how to see the world
I've been a fan of Brian Fawcett for a long time. Here's something I happened to stumble across today at Dooney's Cafe:
By nature, I awaken each day with the possibility that any thought is possible to think, and that, since no one is trying to hit me in the face with a rifle butt, life is a pretty sunny affair. At the end of most days this sanguinity has generally been kicked to death by incoming information and events, but that’s the price we all pay for consciousness in an unjust world that is accelerating out of easy understanding. He reminds us that he goes on to wake up the next morning sunny all over again. Not a bad summary, I'd say.
